A fadder is basically a Swedish student who can stand by your side when you first arrive in Örebro. Before the semester starts, ESN Örebro has devided all the exchange students into "faddergroups". These groups most often consist of 5-10 exchange students from different nationalities and 2-4 fadders. Your fadders are avaliable for you as soon as you arrive and in the beginning their role is to be a friend who can help you with both practical and social matters and help you to integrate in Swedish student life! They can help you with whatever information you may need. This could be for example information about what bus to take, how to order books from Swedish websites, what the signs say in the grocery store, help with registration with the authorities or information ofwhere you can by a costume for the next theme party.
Even if the "fadder-function" is most important during the first few weeks of the semester, the "faddergroups" usually hang out during the whole semester.
